Boys soccer: Cardinals eke one out over Blaine

After dropping a close one to Park High School on Aug. 23, Coon Rapids boys’ soccer team shut-out Blaine 1-0 in a contest staged at the National Sports Center Aug. 24.

The Cardinals Vernon Hachaba scored the game’s only goal, catipulting the Cardinals to victory.

The following day, the Cardinals extended its shut-out gaming, beating Forest Lake 2-0 and marking their early 2012 season with a 2-1 win/loss record.

Blaine, meanwhile, framed their loss to Coon Rapids with two wins of their own, blowing out St. Francis 11-1 on the Saints’ home field Aug. 23 and then shutting out Duluth East 3-0 on Aug. 25.
