Anoka-Ramsey Community College Foundation and Mercy and Unity Hospitals welcome the community to share in Prairie Home Delights Friday, Sept. 28, 6 to 9 p.m., at the Coon Rapids campus.
It is an evening of tasting local gourmet cheeses, locally-sourced autumnal dishes and decadent deserts, while listening to live music by college faculty and students as well taking part in live and silent auctions.
The event raises funds for student scholarships at the college.
Tickets $40 or $50 after Sept. 21 include food, music and fun.
The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Foundation has hosted this event to benefit students since 1993, but this year added a new twist by changing up the food options.
“This year the event committee was inspired by a mix of old and new, fancy and back-to-basics,” said Michael Wall, director of stewardship at Anoka-Ramsey.
“The event returns to campus, overlooking the Mississippi River, and the food will be catered by the Taher chefs behind great restaurants like Forepaugh’s and the Woodfire Grill.
“I have tasted the food myself and I have to say, it’s going to be great!”
The live and silent auctions will feature donated items and services by businesses and individuals in the community.
The popular “Wall of Wine” returns, as do some games for attendees.
