This is why Huffman, a member of National Mutual Benefit (NMB), was recently awarded its National Volunteer Service Scholarship.

This scholarship recognizes volunteer action in a student’s community or school, and honors those dedicated to learning, as well serving others.

Huffman, the daughter of Chareen Huffman, will be attending St. Cloud State University in the fall.

To date, National Mutual Benefit has awarded more than $324,000 in national scholarships.

National Mutual Benefit, a not-for-profit fraternal benefit society based in Madison, Wis., serves more than 45,000 members and their families.

NMB members are joined together through local chapters for charitable, educational, patriotic and volunteer opportunities. Members also have the opportunity to purchase NMB life and disability income insurance.

Last year, NMB members donated more than 110,000 hours serving the families and communities where they live.

Established in 1902, NMB is celebrating 110 years of fraternal service to people of all ages, from all walks of life.
