Preparations are under way for the annual CountryFest celebration at Church of St. Patrick’s in Oak Grove.
The festivities kick off Friday, Sept. 7 with the teen block party from 8 to 11 p.m. The event is for all youth in middle and high school.
There will be “Minute to Win It” challenges, a bonfire, basketball, DJ Bill providing music and prizes.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
Festivities planned Saturday, Sept. 8 begin with a 5K fun run/walk at 10 a.m. All participants receive a T-shirt, refreshments and a chance to win prizes. Awards will be given for the overall men’s and women’s winners.
The kids run for ages 10 and under begins at 11:30 a.m.

More fun begins at noon Saturday.
New this year, according to Jancie Audette, who handles promotions for CountryFest, is a barnyard. Farm accessories will be on display in the barnyard area.
Games begin at noon Saturday.
The Teddy Bear Band will perform from 1 to 1:45 p.m., followed by The Resisters from 2 to 2:20 p.m. and a magic show with balloons from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
There will also be food, bingo, cake walk and a silent auction.
A dinner will be held Saturday evening after Mass.
Rubber Soul-A Tribute to the Beatles will perform from 7 to 11 p.m., with fireworks at 9:15 p.m.
A classic car show will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9.
Over 20 homemade quilts will be auctioned off Sunday at 1 p.m.
Erin Rogue will perform throughout the afternoon.
Games, food and other events will continue Sunday as well.
Activities conclude with the raffle drawing at 4 p.m.
