Annual coat drive begins

Every year, the members of the Coon Rapids VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary have collected hats, mittens and scarfs for the children at the Anoka County Head Start Center in Coon Rapids.

“We would like to do a little more and so have started a collection of gently-used coats, jackets, boots, socks, hats, mittens and scarfs – ages three to six – for the little ones at Head Start,” said Mary Kaye Kath, past president.

“Many of these children do not have the proper warm clothes needed for our cold winters.”

People able to help out are asked to call Kath to arrange for a drop-off or pick up between now and Oct. 10.

Kath can reached by e-mail at [email protected] or by calling 763-757-5189.
