Anoka-Champlin, Andover and Ramsey fire departments responded to a house fire at 625 Jackson Street in Anoka Tuesday morning.
Emergency crews were called in just after 9:30 a.m. to fight the fire, which did extensive damage to the two-story home.
According the Anoka-Champlin Fire Chief Charlie Thompson, renters had moved out of the house on Sunday. The homeowner was on the second floor of the house cleaning when neighbors noticed a fire on the first floor and called 911.
The woman was able to escape the fire without injury.
It took about 20 minutes to knock down the blaze, said Thomspon.
The local fire department brought in backup from Andover and Ramsey because it was a warm day, which can be especially hard on firefighters.
The fire is still under investigation and at this time, Thompson said the cause isn’t clear.
