Fire does major damage to home

An early morning fire caused extensive damage to a Ramsey home Aug. 29.

According to Fire Chief Dean Kapler, the fire started around 4 a.m. on the deck of the two-story single-family home, located at 14391 Potassium St.

There were six people in the home, two adults and four children, and all of them were out of the house when the fire department arrived, he said.

The fire caused extensive damage to the home and the deck.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Kapler said.

Andover and the Anoka-Champlin fire departments were called in to assist.
