CTN nominated for regional Emmy award

CTN Studios’ prep football coverage has been nominated by the Upper Midwest Chapter for a Regional Emmy® Award.

The nomination was received in the Sporting Event/Game – Live/Unedited – Series category for a compilation of football from 2011.

This is CTN’s fourth consecutive Regional Emmy® Award nomination for sports coverage.

The other three nominations in this category are Minnesota Twins by Fox Sports North, Minnesota Timberwolves by Fox Sports North and Minnesota Wild also by Fox Sports North.

CTN Studios is extremely proud to be mentioned as a nominee with over 30 entries from the best sports producers in the Upper Midwest, according to Eric Strouse, production supervisor.

The 2012 Upper Midwest Emmy® Gala take place Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Historic State Theater in Downtown Minneapolis beginning at 7 p.m.

Award winners will be presented Regional Emmy® Award statuettes during the gala event.

The Upper Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is a membership organization dedicated to excellence in television by honoring exceptional work, past and present; providing professional development and outreach; and nurturing the next generation of television professionals.

CTN Studios is a department of the city of Coon Rapids and is funded primarily through cable television franchise and PEG revenues.

CTN Studios’ local programming is available only on Xfinity (Comcast) cable. Games are carried live in Coon Rapids on cable channel 15.

Other surrounding Anoka County communities can also view programming from CTN during the hours of 6 to 11 p.m. on cable channel 18.
