Spring Lake Park’s plans to slip line its sewer pipes will get started later this year.
The city council Sept. 4 unanimously approved a $136,765 contract with Insituform Tech USA Inc. to install new sewer liners.
Councilmembers Barbara Carlson and Bill Nash were absent.
The bid, which was one of four, came in 10 percent less than estimated, said Public Works Director Terry Randall.
The replacement liners will be installed in the sewer pipes, built in 1963, from University Avenue east along Osborne Road to Terrace Road, north to 81st Avenue and 400 feet east on 79th Avenue and Terrace Road.
The project will be paid for using the renewal and replacement fund, Randall said.
The start date for the project has not yet been set.
