Blaine High School gathered Monday morning in the fieldhouse to officially kick off Homecoming week, starting with the coronation ceremony.
The six candidates for Homecoming queen were Alex Brown, Karah Jolly, Olivia Landborg, Peyton Meade, Elizabeth Richards and Kassi Richels.
The six candidates for Homecoming king, who were Kunle Ayinde, T.J. Basterash, Mike Bringgold, Naji El-Araby, Colton Nelson and Michael Voit, opened boxes to find out who would be crowned.
Once chosen as Homecoming king, El-Araby then crowned Richards as Homecoming queen.
Walker Stevens and Devon Pendergast emceed the event and told the student body what extracurricular activities the royalty members are involved in along with some embarrassing stories.
Whitney Nietz and Hannah Stratton performed “Love Story,” Eric Entsminger performed “Radio” and Mary Swanson and Jake Bakken performed “Terrified.”

The Blaine High School Bengals football team plays the Coon Rapids Cardinals this evening (Friday, Sept. 28) at 7 p.m.
