Garbage collection rates and regulations adopted by Blaine City Council

Garbage was the topic for a special meeting of the Blaine City Council, Sept. 6 and was again discussed and action taken at the regular Blaine Council meeting Sept. 7.

Garbage rates for 1972, payable until Oct. 1 at city hall or on the tax rolls, were established at the Thursday, meting at $46 on a 3 to 2 vote of the Council.

NASA display at Northtown

NASA has chosen the Anoka-Hennepin School District 11 as the site for a Community Involvement Program, Sept. 26 through Oct. 2, 1982.

NASA chooses only one or two communities around the United States each year for its educational Community Involvement Program.

Space Hardware Displays will be on view at Northtown Center Sunday, Sept. 26 through Oct. 2. These displays will consist of nearly 20 visualizations of the work of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

Students create own pop art

High above in the Westwood Middle School cafeteria hang large bags of Doritos, large Snickers Bars and Capri Sun drink. At first glance, one may actually consider the lunch menu has changed dramatically.

The large snack foods, though, are the result of hard work from young artists.
