Sixteenth annual We Walk to Remember slated for Oct. 7

Mercy Hospital and Allina Women’s Clinic will host its 16th annual We Walk to Remember.

The walk will be held Sunday, Oct. 7. Registration is from noon to 1 p.m. and the program begins at 1 p.m. at Bunker Hills Regional Park Activity Center, 550 Bunker Lake Blvd., Andover.

The free event will be held for parents and families who have lost their babies.

The walk is meant for bereaved families to have a special day of contemplation and remembrance for children taken too soon.

Losses would include miscarriage, tubal pregnancy, SIDS, blighted ovum, stillborn or baby’s death.

The afternoon will include a brief candle lighting ceremony. Participants can read a poem or share thoughts on their losses or give tips on dealing with sorrow. A short walk will follow.

Participants are encouraged to bring photos, stories, poems, music or a special memory to share.
