The new Four Seasons Curling Club is hosting an open house and tailgating party noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at Fogerty Arena, 9250 Lincoln St. N.E., Blaine.
Grilled burgers, brats and refreshments will be offered, free of charge. The event is open to the public.
“Come out and meet the curling enthusiasts who are working hard to set up the inaugural leagues, expected to start the first week of December,” said John Benton, member of the USA 2010 Olympic curling team and the new Four Seasons Curling Club.
“It doesn’t matter if you’ve never curled or if you’re an elite athlete, we’ll have something for you in our new, world-class facility,” Benton said.
League start dates are to be determined, depending on progress on the new curling facility under construction at Fogerty Arena. Completion is scheduled for mid-November.
The 28,100 square-foot addition to Fogerty Arena features six sheets of dedicated year-round ice, a full-service bar and restaurant with an outdoor patio, men’s and women’s locker rooms, a spacious two-tier viewing area, wheelchair accessibility, game and vending area, as well as a large lounge with a rustic fireplace to gather with friends and family after games.
League registrations will be accepted at the Oct. 13 open house or online at www.FourSeasonsCurlingClub.com. League prices vary for seniors, juniors and club members. They range from $85 for juniors to $275 for non-club members.
