The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team participated in the 2012 Minnesota Tactical Officer’s Association (MTOA) annual training conference Sept. 23-26 at Camp Ripley in Little Falls.
The training was attended by 13 different tactical teams from law enforcement agencies across Minnesota.
The training included multiple scenario-based practical exercises that a tactical team might encounter.
As each team completed its missions, it was evaluated by other tactical officers and one team was selected as the Top Team, based on its performance and skill during the exercises.
This year, the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was selected by the MTOA Conference evaluators as the Top Team of the year and was awarded a trophy at the conclusion of the events.
“This award affirms our commitment to training, selfless service and professionalism that the sheriff’s office pursues, in order to provide the best possible services to every citizen in Anoka County,” said Anoka County Sheriff James Stuart.
