Epiphany Dinner Theatre celebrates its fifth annual year of musical fun with a 1950s theme “At the Hop.”
About 60 cast members will rock audiences in a nostalgic trip back to the rip-roaring decade.
Tap dancing, swing and 30 super songs are on the line-up this time around. Hear such fifties golden oldies as “Rock Around the Clock,” “All I Have To Do is Dream” and “Leader of the Pack.” Two choirs perform, an adult choir and a children’s choir. A small band will accompany the singers.
“It’s a chance to relive the ‘50s. A chance to be entertained,” said Liz Grefsheim, who directs the dinner theater.
Molly Kavanaugh is assistant director.
Audience members are encouraged to come dresssed in 1950s attire.
On the menu is a salad, sirloin burger and fixings, French fries, beverages and ice cream sundaes.
Grefsheim said tickets are selling faster than usual this year, probably because the event is becoming more established and because of the high level of musicianship in the community.
“They (audience members) always leave saying, ‘wow! This was just amazing,’” Grefsheim said.
It’s all about community. That’s what the cool thing is about it,” she said.
Epiphany Dinner Theatre presents “At the Hop,” Oct. 25 (show only), Oct 26 and Oct. 27, 7 p.m. A Saturday matinee will be performed Oct. 27, 2 p.m. Epiphany Church, 1900 111 Ave N.W., Coon Rapids. For tickets and prices visit www.epiphanymn.org or call 763-755-1020.
