Clients from Camilia Rose Convalescent Center and Adult Day Care Program were treated to lunch and bingo at the Coon Rapids American Legion Oct. 9.
They were hosted by members of the Coon Rapids American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
“We put on this lunch twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall,” said Flora Ellefson, event chairperson.
The Camilia Rose clients, some 50 in number, were served pot roast over noodles and a peach dessert plus refreshments.
Bingo followed with caller Denise Eckmann, ladies auxiliary member.
“Everyone leaves a winner,” Ellefson said.
Entertainment was provided by Audrey Gilbertson, a longtime auxiliary member, at the piano, who also accompanied a pre-meal sing-along.
Jim Dingle, Coon Rapids American Legion chaplain, gave a prayer and Helen Steffen, auxiliary president, welcomed the Camilia Rose clients.
“We are delighted to see you here,” Steffen said. “We hope you had a wonderful afternoon.”
Some 10 auxiliary members, as well as a handful of Legion members, set up, dished up, served and then cleaned up for the event.
