Loch Ness Park deeded to city

Presentation of the deed of Loch Ness Park to Blaine and a picnic Wednesday highlighted the completion of the 80 acre park and recreation.

The area was deeded to the city of Blaine by Abe H. Johnson of Johnson Brothers Highway and Heavy Construction, Inc., of Litchfield. They also hosted the picnic.

Loch Ness Park is located east of Lexington Avenue, one mile north of Interstate 35W and is a by-product of a $12 million Interstate 35W highway project in Minneapolis.

Students learn about dental health

Third and fourth graders at Park Terrace Elementary School are participating in the Anoka County school dental health education and prevention program during the school year.

Children who have not seen a dentist in the past year may be screened by a public health dental hygienist. Parental permission is required for this screening.

Joy Osborn, program coordinator, will make three visits to the school, on Sept. 24, Sept. 28 and Oct. 5.

Yes, it is another Blaine volleyball charge

The Blaine charge is now in its third year and shows no sign of slowing against Twin Cities Suburban foes.

The last time Blaine lost a conference volleyball match was in 1990 to Forest Lake. Since that time Blaine has been unbeatable. It won the conference title in 1991 with a perfect record, and with its three-game sweep of previously conference-unbeaten Anoka Tuesday night, it is perfect so far in 1992.
