Oak Grove man pleads guilty to criminal sexual conduct with teen

An Oak Grove man, accused in Anoka County District Court of sexually assaulting a girl who was 14 years old at the time, pleaded guilty to a felony charge and was put on probation for 15 years.

Calvin John Peterson, 24, 215 222nd Lane N.W., entered a guilty plea to a felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct charge and at sentencing Sept. 26, he was jailed for 90 days with credit for three days spent in jail.

Probation conditions include submitting a DNA sample, sex offender treatment, no contact direct or indirect with the victim, submit to polygraph examinations, no use of Internet without permission, no use of social media sites or Internet chat rooms and no possession of pornographic or sexually explicit materials.

According to the complaint, an Anoka County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) detective met with the girl April 6, 2010 about an incident that occurred in August 2009 when she had gone to the residence of Peterson, who was the ex-boyfriend of a relative of hers.

The complaint states that after watching a movie and after others had gone to bed, Peterson began to sexually touch the girl, then had sexual intercourse with her.

When the girl’s relative spoke to Peterson about the incident, he admitted in a conversation that was recorded that he knew the girl was 14 years old at the time and that he did have intercourse with her.
