The Coon Rapids Baptist Church has a new pastor – Rev. Nathan Huston.
Meet the new pastor gatherings took place Sunday in the morning and evening.
According to Huston, he had the privilege of being born into a Christian home, but at the age of four, he trusted Christ as his personal Savior and his own relationship with the Lord began.
From an early age, he enjoyed preaching and officially surrendered to God’s call during his high school years, Huston said.
He prepared for pastoral ministry at Ambassador Baptist College, earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
In 2002, Huston and his wife, Marijoice, were married.
They had known each other since sixth grade – going to school and church and eventually even college together, Huston said.
Marijoice earned a bachelor’s degree in sacred music.
They have five children – Titus, Silas, Amos, Lois and Moses.
From 2003 until 2012, Huston served in north central Pennsylvania as an assistant/youth pastor.
According to Huston, they are excited to be a part of the Coon Rapids community and are eager to spread God’s message of love in Jesus Christ throughout the area.
“My wife and I first visited Coon Rapids this summer, and just loved it,” Huston said.
“We love the size of the community with all of the amenities, but appreciate that it also has a nice hometown feel with lovely neighborhoods, beautiful trees, lots of parks and wonderful people.
“We look forward to being a long-term part of this community.”
The church is located on 3.5 acres on Hanson Boulevard, which gives room for outdoor events, as well as room for growth, Huston said.
It has a worship center, a spacious educational center and a large athletic center with a full-length gym.
Programs include a nursery for every service, children’s church, Wednesday night kids’ meeting and adult Bible study fellowship, Huston said.
