Celebrate Rise! gala exceeds first-year goals

Rise, Inc.’s first fund-raising gala, Celebrate Rise!, exceeded its goals, raising more than $100,000.

Proceeds will be used to purchase two 15-passenger vans to help ensure people with disabilities are able to go to work and participate in community activities.

Pentair was the premier sponsor for the event, which attracted more than 450 guests to International Market Square in Minneapolis Oct. 11. WCCO-TV news reporter/anchor Jason DeRusha emceed the gala program.

Rise honored Cummins Power Generation’s business unit, Fridley, as its Business Partner of the Year; Environmental Stoneworks, North Branch, and Pitney-Bowes presort services, Fridley, as Employers of the Year; and Minnesota Rep. Jim Abeler of Anoka as its Community Partner of the Year.

A private, nonprofit organization, Rise is headquartered in Spring Lake Park since 1971 and has 20 other offices.
