Panthers overcome Chiefs in last-minute

Spring Lake Park, on the strength of a last-minute drive directed by quarterback Scott Kriesel, overcame a courageous defensive effort by the Centennial Chiefs by a 12-6 score.

The game was a tight defensive battle throughout. In fact, the first two touchdowns were set-up by the defensive units.

The Panthers broke the scoreless deadlock in the middle of the second quarter when big tackle Ray Belisle charged the Centennial punter deep in Chief territory, blocked and deflected the punt into the end zone where Jeff Buchli fell on the ball for the touchdown.
