Cyclists gathered on the grounds at the National Sports Center for two-day Velocross event Nov. 3-4.
Bicycles and riders navigated a course that meandered across grass, dirt and asphalt with man-made obstacles to either ride over or dismount and carry bikes across. Event Organizer Spencer Haugh with Little Guys Racing told NSCtv that the event began with only a few riders but has grown into many races across two days.
“We thought it would be a great way to bring more racers that normally wouldn’t see the Velodrome and hopefully generate more interest in the track and support ‘cross racing as well,” he said.
To add difficulty to the course stairs were built into a hill and planks were placed across other flat portions of the course.
