“We will have all the big players in the ice fishing industry attending the show and we’re trying to make it easy for customers to pick up all the gear they need for a new season at great prices,” said expo director Greg Savino. “If you want deals, this will be the show to attend.”
The daily admission fee to attend this hard water ice fishing expo is $10 for adults and $6 for kids ages 12 to 17. Children 11 years old and younger get in for free. Parking is free.
Fisherman will get the chance to preview the latest tackle, electronics, gear and ice houses, just ahead of the ice fishing season.
Ice fishing experts will lead seminars throughout the expo. Brian “Bro” Brosdah is a multi-species angler best known for his influence on the sport of ice fishing. Dave Genz is an ice fishing innovator. Brian Hawthorne is a Mille Lacs Lake fishing guide. Tony Roach is a professional walleye angler who has guided on a number of Minnesota lakes. These are just a few of the experts who will be at the expo.
Savino said with ample outdoor space by the National Sports Center, there is room to test some equipment before buying it. There will be a course where people can test ATVs and ice augers will be set up in cases so people can familiarize themselves with the various options before making a decision.
To keep the kids engaged, there will be different youth activities, including a fish pond.
The Clam Corporation of Medina is the presenting sponsor of this event.
This is the inaugural expo at the National Sports Center and the first in a series of outdoor sporting expos there.
A Minnesota Anglers’ Expo will be held Feb. 8-10, the Minnesota Deer Classic is from March 8-10 and the Great Waters Fly Fishing Expo is on March 22-24.
