In the tradition of service and giving back to its communities, United Educators Credit Union collected food items to donate to the Evergreen Park’s food shelf in October.
UECU, a member-owned financial cooperative serving the education community, partnered with its members to collect donations of food and money in honor of its Coon Rapids branch one-year anniversary.
At Evergreen Park Elementary School in Brooklyn Center there is a poverty rate of 80 percent.
The school’s staff created a food shelf to help out their students and their families. Evergreen Park Elementary gives food out to those who are in need at the school.
“Our members and staff are proud to be able celebrate our first year in the community by giving back to a local school in need,” said Dick Ruohoniemi, Coon Rapids branch supervisor.
United Educators Credit Union was established in 1957 and is a member-owned, member-operated, not-for-profit financial institution, providing financial services to the Minnesota education community, their families and those who support education by being a part of the United Educators Foundation.
United Educators Credit Union, which offers a full line of financial services, currently operates branch locations in Apple Valley, Coon Rapids, Eden Prairie and Woodbury.
