St. Francis High to perform ‘A Christmas Carol’ one night only

The St. Francis High School Theater Department will present “A Christmas Carol” for one night only.

The production will be performed Thursday, Nov. 29, 7 p.m., at the St. Francis High School Performing Arts Center, 3325 Bridge St. Suggested donations for adults are $10 and $5 for students and senior citizens.

A $2 discount will be given to those who bring in a donation to the food shelf or the Angel Tree. Suggested items include: Barbie dolls, games, Breyer horses, dolls, sporting goods, Lego products and things for children ages birth through 15.

Proceeds from the performance, featuring the school’s acting and directing class and madrigal choir, will benefit the school’s theater program.

The play, based on Charles Dickens’ classic story and adapted for stage by Paul J. Hustoles of Mankato State University, retells Dickens’ famous tale.

Filled with traditional carols and iconic characters, Ebenezer Scrooge takes audiences on his journey to remember that Christmas is not “hum bug” after all.
