Cormier heads state realtors associations
The Minnesota Association of Realtors (MNAR) has chosen a longtime Realtor from Coon Rapids as its new leader.
Jim Cormier was installed as the 2013 MNAR president at an installation lunch in Minneapolis.
Cormier has been involved in the real estate business since 1979 and has been the broker/owner of Building Sites, Inc. in Coon Rapids since 1981.
He has been involved at the local, state and national level of the Realtor organization.
Locally, Cormier served on the board of directors for the former North Metro Association of Realtors (NMRA) for over 15 years.
He was the NMRA president in 2001-2002 and was the Realtor of the year for NMRA in 2002.
At the state level, Cormier has served on the board of directors, governmental affairs, executive, finance and nominating committees as well as the state budget working group over the past several years.
He was the MNAR Realtor of the Year in 2006 and the Ed Anderson Political Achievement Award recipient in 2006 and 2008. He is a Minnesota RPAC Trustee and Golden “R” Contributor to RPAC.
Cormier has also been involved in many different ways at the National Association of Realtors (NAR).
He served as regional representative on the land use, property rights, property rights and environment and state and local issues mobilization committees.
He is the NAR Federal Political Coordinator (FPC) for Rep. Michelle Bachmann in Congressional District 6 and currently serves on the NAR Major Donor Council, RPAC Trustee Committee and Presidential Advisory Group.
He is also a member of NAR’s President’s Circle.
Cormier lives in Ham Lake with his wife Madonna.
