A 37-year-old Blaine man was sentenced Nov. 9 in Anoka County District Court on a felony second-degree burglary conviction.
Matthew Bror Skogman had also been charged with misdemeanor domestic assault, which was dismissed.
Skogman was given credit for eight days served in jail. He will be on probation for the next five years, however, and he must pay a $300 fine or perform 30 hours of community service over the next two years.
According to the criminal complaint, Skogman went to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in Anoka March 15. He was stopped by a male friend of Skogman’s ex-girlfriend outside the apartment, while another friend dead bolted the door.
Skogman became enraged and kicked the door in. He went into the apartment, dragged his ex-girlfriend out of the bathroom into the bedroom and assaulted her.
Anoka police officers who responded to the apartment saw that she was crying and had abrasions on her nose and multiple bumps on her forehead.
