Antarctica will be the topic of Coon Rapids Seniors Services’ December Tea Talk program.
It will take place Wednesday, Dec. 12, 1:30 p.m., at the Coon Rapids Civic Center.
Lyall Schwarzkopf will make a presentation on Antarctica’s wildlife and also discuss the Antarctic Treaty system, which began in 1961 and regulates international relations.
There are currently 50 signatory nations.
Schwarzkopf will talk about the limitations within the treaty and the countries that are involved.

A genealogy class will be presented as part of Coon Rapids Senior Services’ series of lifelong learning program at the Coon Rapids Civic Center Thursday, Dec. 6.
“Breaking Through Your Brick Wall” is the topic of the class, which starts at 1 p.m.
Instructor Cathi Weber will provide clues for participants to find answers in other records and explain how they can learn to put the pieces of the puzzle together.
