Ham Lake seeks residents interested in serving on council

The Ham Lake City Council has agreed on a plan to fill an upcoming vacancy on the council.

Councilmembers agreed that they would accept applications from interested individuals and conduct interviews before appointing the new councilmember.

A vacancy on the council will occur at the start of the year because Councilmember Julie Braastad was elected to serve on the Anoka County Board.

Residents interested in serving on the council can submit a letter of interest and resume to the city by Jan. 22, 2013.

After that date the council will conduct interviews with the interested parties and appoint someone to fill the remainder of Braastad’s term, which expires in 2014.

For more information about the process, call Ham Lake City Hall at 763-434-9555.
