Anoka Legion honors long-time members, Boy Scout of the year

The Edward B. Cutter Post 102 observed Veterans Day by holding its annual dinner at the Post club rooms Nov. 10 with about 100 in attendance. Post Commander Gary Reimann hosted the evening’s program. John Kriesel, director of veterans services for Anoka Countym was the guest speaker. Other special guests present were the Tenth District officers who also brought greetings.

Emil Magnuson and Lawrence Violet were recognized as 50-year Legion members.

Also recognized was Connor Riley as the Anoka American Legion Boy Scout of the Year. Connor belongs to Troop 233 and he is a senior at Anoka High School. His parents are Brenda and Chris Riley. His award was presented by Paul Adler, Post 102 Boy Scout chairman.

The North Suburban Brass Quintet provided patriotic music at the dinner
