The store opened Nov. 29 on the northwest corner of Highway 65 and 85th Avenue.

Rolls, donuts, and bread are baked in LaCrosse, Wis., and shipped daily to Kwik Trip locations around the Midwest, including this new Blaine store, according to store manager Jeremy Haack. The business even makes its own ice cream.

The new Blaine Kwik Trip, located at 1355 85th Ave. N.E., also is selling bananas, potatoes, milk in gallon jugs or half-gallon bags. Pizzas that are ready to take home and bake are just around the corner from the produce.

There will always be a monthly special, Haack said. For example, there will be a huge sale on Kwik Trip’s own freshly baked bread next month. The employer shows its employees its appreciation with its 40 percent profit sharing plan for each employee, according to Haack.

“We cut out the middle-man,” Haack said when explaining why Kwik Trip has been so successful. “We make it ourselves. It’s delivered and stocked by our own people.”
