St. Francis improved to 3-2 after scoring four times in the final period of a 5-1 North Suburban Conference win over Chisago Lakes in East Bethel Dec. 13. Saints Kyle Wagner had three points, including two goals while Cameron Kaehler added a goal and assist and goalie Darion Hanson stopped 28 shots in the win.
Legacy Christian Academy
Legacy improved to 3-1-1 following a 13-0 thrashing of Pine City/Rush City in its Two Rivers Conference opener Dec. 11.
The Lions scored five times in both the first and second periods to put the game out of reach in the third period, outshooting the Dragons 35-15, including an 8-1 margin in the final period.
Thirteen different skaters figured in the scoring for Legacy, highlighted by Tyler Arenz four points (two goals), Brock Thompson had three points (two assists), Brandon Leier and Shaw Wiczek each had three points (two goals) and Zach Cole added three assists. Lions goalie Tanner Balk had 15 saves in the first shutout of the season.
Spring Lake Park
Farmington had too much for the Panthers as they dropped to 3-2 overall, losing for the second time in three games Thursday night.
Farmington scored just 29 seconds into the game but Spring Lake Park came roaring back with three goals from Jacob Nystrom, Skyler Fisher and Pete Seinko to lead 3-2 into the final minute of the second period. Seinko’s shorthander at 16:03 gave the lead to the visitors who just as quickly surrendered the lead as the Tigers tied the game just nine seconds later.
The home fans inside Schmitz-Maki arena went crazy as the Tigers scored the game-winner just 55 seconds into the third period.
Despite turning away 32 shots, Panthers goalie Aaron Furlano took the loss.
