KleinBank debit ‘card swipe’ project raises money for YMCA giving tree

From Nov. 23 to 25, each time customers “swiped” their KleinBank Debit MasterCard for purchases, KleinBank donated 5 cents to local agencies in the communities they serve to help families in need during the holiday season.

As a result of this program, local agencies in the communities KleinBank serves, which includes Coon Rapids, shared a donation of $4,300.

They included the Emma B Howe YMCA, Coon Rapids, Giving Tree.

According to Doug Hile, president/chief executive officer of KleinBank, the bank’s Cares program was developed to fulfill its mission of strengthening its communities by providing time, talent and resources.

“This holiday program is one more way we provide needed funds for families and support growth of our local businesses,” Hile said.

The Klein family entered banking in 1907 when C.H. Klein first bought stock in First National Bank of Chaska.

Today, with assets totaling over $1.5 billion and a financial team of 400 banking professionals, KleinBank is Minnesota’s largest family-owned state bank with 19 branches.
