Coon Rapids native Dr. Andrew Laudenbach has joined the department of emergency medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center.
Laudenbach, the son of Steve and Margaret Laudenbach, graduated from Blaine High School in 1999.
After graduating from the University of Minnesota Medical School, Laudenbach completed an emergency medicine residency at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., and an emergency point of care ultrasound fellowship, also at New York Methodist Hospital.
According to Laudenbach, he chose emergency medicine because it allows him to be a part of the safety net that provides access to medical care to all patients in need.
In addition to patient treatment in the emergency department, he enjoys teaching residents and medical students to improve their care in the emergency department through the use of bedside ultrasound, Laudenbach said.
Hennepin County Medical Center is a nationally recognized Level 1 Adult Trauma Center and Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center with the largest emergency department in Minnesota.
