Non-union city of Coon Rapids employees will receive two salary increases in 2013.
Under a resolution approved by the Coon Rapids City Council Dec. 18, there will be a 1 percent pay adjustment effective Jan. 1, 2013 and a 1.5 pay increase effective July 1, 2013.
“These increases are the same as the ones provided for in the city’s four collective bargaining agreements,” said Matt Stemwedel, assistant city manager.
The wage schedule also includes a 6 percent merit pay range to reward employees who demonstrate excellent work performance, he said.
The two cost of living increases will cost the city some $159,000 in 2013 and money is included in the approved budget to cover that cost, Stemwedel said.
According to Stemwedel, the city is preparing a full classification and compensation study, but it has not been completed in time for the 2013 compensation plan.
The city will receive the results of the study in early 2013 and then staff will develop an implementation plan, Stemwedel said.
