On the advice of a sales clerk, Ronnie Mack of Coon Rapids started playing the Minnesota State Lottery’s Northstar Cash game three months ago.
After winning “a couple of dollars here and there,” Mach got the payout of a lifetime when he won $90,391 from the Dec. 8 drawing.
“I thought I was going to have a heart attack,” Mack said after realizing his ticket matched all five winning numbers to win the jackpot.
Mack claimed the prize at the lottery’s headquarters in Roseville Dec. 10.
Neighborhood Stop, 10635 Quince St. N.W., Coon Rapids, sold the winning ticket.
To play Northstar Cash, people select five numbers from 1 to 31. Matching the five numbers drawn wins the jackpot, which starts at $25,000 and grows until it is won.
