Caroline Donaldson placed first and received $1,000 scholarship from the district. She lives in Eden Prairie and is a home schooled sophomore, coached by Marti Ackland of Maple Grove. She is following in her brother’s footsteps who went to the national contest last year, placing third.

The 10th District is the first step before going to the state competition. The American Legion has been holding this competition for 20 years and it has been chaired by Cliff Newman, of the Anoka Post 102 for many years.
