A women’s leadership event to be presented by chamber

MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce will present its second annual women’s leadership breakfast Thursday, Jan. 10.

The chamber is partnering with Rasmussen College, Blaine, which will host the event from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Breakfast and networking will take place from 7:30 to 8 a.m. followed by introductions and keynote speaker Joan Steffend at 8 p.m.

Steffend has spent 30 years in the media, first as a national Emmy-winning news reporter/anchor at KARE-TV in the Twin Cities, then as a host on HGTV (“Decorating Cents,” “White House Christmas,” “Dream Home Specials”).

She is a published author and has launched the Peace Begins With Me project.

A panel discussion with women leaders will take place from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Panel members are Sara Criger, Mercy Hospital president; Lori Higgins, MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce president; Carol LeDoux, Anoka County Commissioner; Mary Pokluda, Bumblebee Personal Assistants owner; and Rhonda Sivarajah, Anoka County Board chairperson.
