Bethel guard adds MIAC honors
• Bethel University senior guard Taylor Hall (Blaine/Bemidji State) recevied the MIAC with Basketball Player-of-the-Week honors for his efforts in two double-digit wins for the Royals during the fierst week of January.
He had 22 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three blocks while shooting 10-for-17 from the floor in an 86-59 win over St. John’s Jan. 2. He followed that with a 35-point, 18-rebound effort in an 80-66 win over St. Olaf Jan. 5. Hall was 12-for-22 from the floor and 9-for-12 from the line with five offensive rebounds.
Hall leads the MIAC in points (23.2) and rebounds (10.9) pergame while shooting nearly 58 percent from the floor.
• Gustavus Adolphus senior center Ryan Johnson (Blaine/UW-River Falls) leads the Gusties (8-6-1) with 12 points (seven assists) in 15 games this season. Johnson had a season-high three points (two assists) in a 5-0 win at Augsburg College Nov. 30 and began 2013 with an assist in a 3-2 win at St. Scholastica Jan. 5.
• Minnesota State University, Mankato sophomore forward Zach Romashko (Blaine) is averging eight points in more than 19 minutes per game while shooting 48.5 percent
from the field and 80 percent from the line. He had 13 points and four rebounds in 12 minutes in a 66-54 win at Wayne State (Neb.) Jan. 5. The Mavericks are 10-1 overall and in a three-way tie at the top of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference standings with MSU Moorhead and Northern State.
