Doris K. Gordon, 90

gordonDoris K. Gordon passed away quietly Sunday evening, Jan. 20, 2013. Born October 20, 1922, in Pembia, North Dakota to parents John Kirby and Florence Trudel Kern.

Preceded in death by daughter Rebecca Lynn Beyer.

Survived by husband, Robert after 67 years of marriage, three daughters, Kristen, Jo-Ellen, and Barbara, six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and sister Martha Louise Mc Kinley (William) of Crystal, Minnesota.

Doris was active on the ABC League of Women Voters Chapter, and in activities of the First Congregational UCC Church of Anoka. Retired in January, 1985 as a Para-Professional in the Learning Center at Coon Rapids Sr. High. Had also done some substitute teaching in Dist. 11 elementary schools. Doris loved life to its fullest, traveled extensively, did a lot of sewing, reading, actively involved with music. Had a love of life and embraced it fully. She willed her body to the U of M Medical School and a

Memorial Service is planned for a later time. Memorials to First Congregational Church or Alzheimers research are preferred.

We must add a note of appreciation to the care givers & staff of Twin Rivers Care Center in Anoka. They went out of their way many times to make her stay there as comfortable and pleasant as possible.
