The Coon Rapids Lions Club is hosting its fourth annual mid-winter wine and epicurean delights extravaganza Saturday, Feb. 23, 6 to 9 p.m., in the Riverview Café at Anoka-Ramsey Community College, 11200 Mississippi Blvd. N.W.
This fund-raising event will feature a wide variety of wines, foods and goods.
There will be over 60 different wines provided by MGM Liquor Warehouse of Coon Rapids from several different vendors.
In addition to the wines, there will be appetizers from 12 local restaurants which include Famous Dave’s, Boston’s, Olive Garden, Dickey’s Barbeque Pit, Hot Wok, Dairy Queen, Potbelly Sandwich Shop, Pizza Hut, Caribou Coffee, Jimmy John’s, Buffalo Wild Wings and The Harvest Grill.
Vendor booths featuring a variety of products and services will be available for attendees to visit and the event will also feature live music.
A silent auction will take place with items donated by various local businesses and individuals.
Also, a wall of wine featuring up to 80 bottles of wine will offer attendees an opportunity to contribute $20 to the Coon Rapids Lions Club project of their choice and in return receive a bottle of wine ranging in price from $20 to over $100.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
They are also available for purchase at MGM Liquor Warehouse, Potbelly Sandwiches of Coon Rapids, at the door on the day of the event, in advance from members of the Lions club and on-line at www.coonrapidslions.org.
Proceeds will go toward the support of various community and Lions projects such as ACBC Food Shelf, Alexandra House, Element Teen Center, Feed My Starving Children, Mercy Hospital Wellness Van, Stepping Stone Emergency Housing, TLC Toys, camps and Scouting.
People attending are asked to bring their used eyeglasses and hearing aids.
Those items are recycled and distributed all over the world to help in improving sight for those persons in need.
