County’s new prescription discount card to help uninsured

The Anoka County Prescription Discount Card will be provided free of charge to all county residents through a partnership with ProAct, Inc.

Residents of Anoka County should watch their mailbox for a new prescription drug discount card.

The card provides discounts up to 20 percent on brand name medications and up to 50 percent discounts on generic medications. In addition, residents can save on everything from pet prescriptions to laser eye surgery.

“The prescription discount card is a great benefit for all county residents who are uninsured and underinsured,” said Anoka County Board Chairperson Rhonda Sivarajah.

“The discount card is specifically for residents who do not have prescription drug coverage. All Anoka County residents, regardless of age or income can use the card.”

This month ProAct, Inc. will mail more than 115,000 discount cards to Anoka County residents. In addition, discount cards will be available at participating pharmacies and county offices.

To use the card, simply present it to a participating pharmacy along with a new prescription or refill to receive savings.

One discount card may be used for all family members and can also be used for discounts on pet medications and other medical-related services.

There are no enrollment forms, membership fees or income requirements. Learn more at http://www.anokacounty.us/rxcard/.

The cards are ready to use and are pre-activated. But they cannot be used in conjunction with another insurance carrier and need to be used alone.

Residents should contact ProAct, Inc. directly with any questions at 1-877-776-2285 or visit their website at www.proactrxsavings.com.
