Billy N. Graphenteen, age 81 of Brainerd, formerly of Coon Rapids, died on January 30, 2013. Billy was born on June 18, 1931 in Ruthton, MN to Carl and Vera (Martin) Graphenteen. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean Conflict.
Billy was a roofer and then he worked for John Deere for 32 years. He also worked at Freightmasters for 15 years, to buy his dream home on Round Lake.
He loved his grandkids and living on the lake. His quick wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Billy was a member of the American Legion, the VFW and Park United Methodist Church
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Marian; children, Janet (Eric) Nelson of Coon Rapids, Bryan of Andover, Kevin (Christine) of Ramsey, and Pamela (Mark) Schinzel of St. Francis; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Deloris Celander of Litchfield, Palmer (Dorothy) of Crystal, Mary (Fritz) Levenhagen of Blue Earth, Carl Jr. (Linda) of Blaine, Gary (Rosie) of Litchfield, and Patty Mahoney of Las Vegas, NV.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Marvin, Delmar, Myron, Myra Coyer and infant brother, Earl; son-in-law, Lee Caroon.
A Memorial Service for Billy will be on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 1 PM at Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 1-3 PM at the church and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Interment will take place at the MN State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.www.halvorson-johnson.com
