Andover man arrested for alleged sexual contact with minors

A 32-year-old Andover man who is a Minneapolis police officer was arrested Wednesday, Feb. 6 for allegedly having sexual contact with multiple juvenile females in Anoka County.

The suspect was identified in the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office press release, but ABC Newspapers does not name suspects until they are charged. He was arrested for probable cause criminal sexual conduct in the first degree.

The Brooklyn Center Police Department told the sheriff’s office that they had identified an individual in Andover who had been using social media to contact a female child in Brooklyn Center, according to the press release from the sheriff’s office.

The investigation uncovered alleged sexual contact with multiple juvenile females in Anoka County, the sheriff’s office press release states.

Authorities also learned that the suspect is a Minneapolis police officer.

The Anoka County Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case to determine if charges should be filed.
