Taste of Blaine Feb. 21

Bring your appetite to the National Sports Center Thursday, Feb. 21 for the eighth annual Taste of Blaine.

About 30 area restaurants and hospitality businesses will dish up food between 4:30 and 8 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Schwan’s Expo Center, 1740 105th Ave. N.E. in Blaine, which is located on the National Sports Center campus.

The event is a fund-raiser for Free2B!, which is a non-profit organization based in Blaine that brings together numerous community partners to provide vehicle repair work and donated vehicles to those going through financial hardships and need transportation to get to work or school.

Gary Levine, executive director of Free2B!, said 944 people attended the Taste of Blaine event last year and the net proceeds were about $30,000.

•Axel’s Bonfire, Blaine: bull bites

•Bakers Square, Blaine: pies and cookies

•Big Dipper Ice Cream Parlor, Blaine: ice cream

•Buca Di Beppo Italian Restaurant, Maple Grove: tiramisu

•Buffalo Wild Wings, Blaine: wings

•Carol’s Restaurant, Blaine: homemade tomato basil soup and desert

•Casa Rio Tex Mex, Anoka: chips, salsa and queso dip

•Chili’s Restaurant, Blaine: honey chipotle crispers, chips and salsa

•Costco, Coon Rapids: cakes

•Cub Foods, Blaine: dilusso meat and cheese, wild rice meatballs with plum sauce, rondele spread with crackers

•Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Coon Rapids: pulled pork sandwiches and coleslaw

•Dixie Blue BBQ, Blaine: mini pork sandwiches

•Dunn Brothers, Andover: coffee

•Edible Arrangements, Blaine: fruit arrangements

•Grand Casino Hinckley & Mille Lacs, Brooklyn Park

•Hot Wok Delivery, Coon Rapids: fried rice and egg rolls

•JJ Murphy’s Irish Pub, Blaine: pot roast sandwich topped with potato strings on a white silver dollar bun

•Majestic Oaks Golf Course, Ham Lake: hot beef and chicken
