Man accused of sexually assaulting teen
An East Bethel man has been accused in Anoka County District Court of sexually assaulting his live-in girlfriend’s daughter over a period of years.
David James Pankow, 51, was arraigned in court Jan. 31 on two felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct charges.
According to the complaint, the girl, now 18, told an investigator that she had been sexually assaulted by Pankow since she was 13 or 14 years old.
She alleged that Pankow would frequently try to make deals with her when she needed things, such as hair products or a cell phone, telling her that she would get those items if she performed sexual acts.
After the most recent incident, when she was sleeping in her bedroom and awoke to find Pankow allegedly touching her, she told him to stop and not touch her.
She alleged Pankow apologized to her the next day and told her that he would not touch her anymore if she did not want him to.
