Coon Rapids Lions to host all-you-can-eat breakfast

The Coon Rapids Lions Club is again hosting an all-you-can-eat breakfast Sunday, March 17, 8 a.m. to noon, at the Coon Rapids VFW, 1919 Coon Rapids Blvd.

The breakfast will include pancakes, French toast, eggs, sausage, coffee, milk and orange juice.

Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $6 for seniors 62 or older and for children ages five to 12. Children under five eat free.

Tickets are available at the door or can be purchased in advance from members of the club and also from several local youth groups.

Proceeds from this breakfast will support the various community projects supported by the Lions, as well as the youth groups participating in the event.

The Coon Rapids Lioness Club will have a craft and bake sale at the VFW during the breakfast with proceeds from the sales going to club projects.

Used eyeglasses and hearing aids will be collected to be recycled for use by people in need all over the world.

Non-perishable food items can also be dropped off at the breakfast with these items to be donated to the ACBC Food Shelf.

“The Coon Rapids Lions Club is looking forward to our annual fall community breakfast,” said Joe Marvin, event chairperson.

“We enjoy seeing all of those smiling faces coming to the VFW and sharing a meal.

“It’s nice to see a community come together at such an event and the Lions appreciate the support we receive for this breakfast and our other activities.

“If it wasn’t for the generosity of the citizens of Coon Rapids, we Lions would not be able to work on our projects that assist so many people throughout the community and the World.

“We also wish to thank the Coon Rapids VFW for once again allowing us the use of their facilities.

“The Coon Rapids Lions Club truly appreciates the long partnership we have with the VFW members, staff and patrons.”

The club would also like to remind anyone attending to bring their used eyeglasses and hearing aids, according to Marvin.

Those items are recycled and distributed all over the world to help in improving sight for those in need, Marvin said. “This is another way that a small contribution locally can be part of a world-wide project performed by Lions,” he said.

“We will also be collecting non-perishable food items for the ACBC Food Shelf. The club recognizes the needs of its community and hope this will help our neighbors who are struggling during these tough economic times.”

The club meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m., with the meetings held on the second Wednesday taking place at the Coon Rapids VFW.
