Ramsey approves 24-hour business

The new Ramsey McDonald’s restaurant has passed another hurdle.

The Ramsey City Council Feb. 12 unanimously amended its ordinance to allow 24-hour drive throughs.

The restaurant will have minimal impact on the area, which is zoned for retail, said Associate Planner Chris Anderson.

Councilmember David Elvig said he has concerns on how the use of the drive through will overlap with future neighboring businesses and any mixed residential buildings.

This area is primarily for retail without residential, said Councilmember John LeTourneau.

And rules prohibit the audio from being heard beyond the property lines, Anderson said.
