District 16 board adopts swimming pool policies

The Board of Education of School District 16 Feb. 6 approved, in accordance with the State Department regulations, a student demission police for handicapped children.

The policies of employment for compensation and fringe benefits for the Coordinator of Special Education were approved.

Mrs. Judith Bratteli’s employment to substitute teach for Joel Jacobs, while he is in the Legislature, was approved.

Park Board reviews action plan

The oath of office was administered to new Blaine Park Advisory Board members Jan. 24 by city clerk Joyce Twistol. Those sworn in were Raymond Day, Michell Konkel and Tom O’Gara.

The board reviewed a six month plan of action which outlines a series of objectives to be undertaken by the board.

The plan calls for the board in February to review the park development from 1982; establish park plan updating procedure; review list of playground equipment to order and begin planning for Arbor Day activities.

Blaine sends 26 DECA students to state

Blaine High School’s Distributive Education Club of America (DECA) recently had 26 students qualify for the state conference in March.

Thirteen schools, including Blaine, participated in the district DECA conference Feb. 4 and 5.
