Epiphany Music Ministry presents its sixth annual pre-Easter concert “His Amazing Love.”
The concert, featuring an adult and youth choir and orchestra along with St. Timothy’s Church hand bell choir, will be performed twice, Friday, March 22, 7 p.m., at the Church of the Epiphany and Sunday, March 24, 4 p.m., at Church of St. Timothy.
The performers, about 100 adult singers, 50 youth singers and an orchestra of about 25, draw from Epiphany and St. Timothy’s churches and other area churches.
New this year, a drama piece will be added. An actor playing the role of Jesus and 12 apostles will act out the Last Supper, Crucifixion, death and Resurrection of Christ.
Elizabeth Grefsheim directs, with arrangements by Grefsheim and Therese Jorgensen, director of music at St. Timothy’s. The script is by Bill Steffl, director of liturgy, also of St. Timothy’s.
“It’s about the coming together to build unity and to share the story of the death and resurrection of Christ,” Grefsheim said of the journey told through scripture and song.
The concert also offers choral experience for singers and instrumentalists and builds community among the greater community, she said.
Expect a musical twist in this concert, which has become a tradition.
“Each year, we add something new,” Grefsheim said.
